Paul Dunning will speak to us about wooden puzzle making. Our gift bowls will be presented to Mary Potter Hospice. Critiquing of displayed items will be done by Keith. Saturday 21st – Strawberry Fair 9.30am – 3pm, Kapiti Primary School. Here’s an opportunity to sell your wares, promote the Guild and demonstrate live on the lathe. The event is a fund raiser for Mary Potter Hospice. If you plan to sell your woodwork. Download and complete a sales record sheet and please add your name to the roster to assist.

The membership subscription is currently $60.00 per annum. This is discounted by $10.00 for members of the New Zealand Association of Woodworkers.
Market stalls
Our Guild participates in a few local markets through the year where we can sell our woodwork, demonstrate woodturning and promote our Guild to the public.
If Guild members are selling woodwork at one of these events, please download and complete a sales record sheet.
In order to make these opportunities successful, we all need to participate.

We have a growing collection of woodwork related books, magazines etc available for members to borrow. The library is open at our monthly meetings.

CRITIQUING OF YOUR woodwork
We have a display table at our monthly meetings. Bring your items for others to admire and one of the team will critique selected items. A critique is not a criticism – but an assessment of your finished piece. It may include a short discussion with the maker and suggestions for possible improvement.

The Zoom Club meeting is held on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7pm. It is open to non-members also.

The container will be open 30 minutes prior to our monthly meetings. There is plenty of dry wood at reasonable prices.
Wig Stands & Gift Bowls
Wood for making these is available free of charge from the Guild container. Members are asked to please make one wig stand and one bowl per month.

For the Guild to run well and provide a range of interesting and relevant presentations, teaching and activities; all of our members need to be involved. You can help by:
- Suggesting a topic for a Saturday workshop.
- Sharing your skills in a talk or demonstration.
- Sharing your WIBUT story.
- Preparing and presenting a talk on a tree.
- Participating in a working bee
- Participating in our market stall events.
Let a committee member know how you’d like to get involved. Dates of upcoming events are announced at our meetings, in the Kapiti Lancewood and on this page.
